Two of the books are 55-word stories and one is limited to six words. All three have stories or comments about religion, relationships, life, and the human condition.

The first one has been available for about five years. The two latest were just finished over the past week.

The first one, Fifty-Five 55-Word Stories, though I like the stories, looks like it was thrown together by an amateur, which it was of course. The book has limited font sizes and just about no bold print and the categories of stories aren't grouped.

The two books just published recently have a more professional look. However, I still like all of the stories. And, stories are why we write books.

Yes, a Councilwoman, in Chesapeake, Virginia Wants to Have in God We Trust Plastered Everywhere!!!!!

Here we go again, amazingly. In our sister city, if you will, Chesapeake, which rubs up against the border of my city (Virginia Beach) Councilwoman Suzy Kelly is proposing that Chesapeake adopts In God We Trust. Here's the link to the article.

I would really like to use the F word, however, one of my New Years' resolutions was to use no words that I wouldn't use around my mom. And, around my mom, I rarely, if ever, even said damn.

Where was I?

If I said my Subaru gets 100 mpg you'd surely ask for EVIDENCE! You would surely want to see some road tests or something. You surely wouldn't believe just on my saying that my Subaru gets 100 mpg. Suppose I showed you the Subaru Bible and pointed out that the Bible said it gets 100 mpg, would you then believe it? Why not, for cryin' out loud, it's in the Bible.

Yet, you believe in a virgin birth, talking snakes, and all the rest....but, won't believe my Subaru gets 100 mpg.

Well, enough of this. Yes, just whistlin' Dixie. You folks keep on getting up on Sunday, putting on your finest, trudging to your churches and such, and praising whatever God you praise. Listening to ministers, reverends, and so on; dressed in really tacky costumes, babbling about the Lord God and Baby Jesus. Terrific.

Occasionally and rarely a few of you will all of a sudden realize you've been had.....and, will realize what a hoax and a scam it has all been.

Yes, America may well be a great country. But, in many ways, with our bizarre and absurd beliefs, we are so far behind other great nations who have tossed off the shackles of delusions, false beliefs. myths, and superstitions.

If we take a look at the countries that have the highest we're happy and enjoying life ratings, they are the same countries that have the fewest believers! Hmmm.....

Banger, Short-Track Racing, and Road Rage........

How about a change of pace?

Any of you folks race fans? I've been watching and attending races for years. The first race I attended was about 1945. Though my favorite is road racing, over the years I've watched just about everything, yes, including lawn mower racing!

However, until yesterday I'd never heard of Banger racing. Yes, Banger racing. There seem to be several classes and some races seem to be nothing more than a demolition derby, though most are actual races even though there will be a lot of Banging (wrecking).

In the States, we have short-track racing. Typically, this is what you might call hobby racing that takes place Saturday night at tracks all over the country. The tracks are usually 1/4 or 1/2 mile. And, it's often said there will be beatin' and bangin'. Yes, close racing with paint swapping and rubbing. It would seem that the Banger racers take it to another level.

By now, we've all heard of road rage. I think for most instances of so-called road rage, we may be more accurate in calling it antisocial personality disorder. You know, thug and bully behavior. But, enough of trying to define it. In England, you could just drive your everyday car right out on the track and deal with your aggression or your desire to go fast and race.

Yes, just drive your family car out on the track.

OK, Who Saved the Fan Who Had a Seizure? Was it Tim Tebow and His Laying on of Hands or Was it My Eating a Hot Dog?

Well, I'm sure most of us have heard about Tim Tebow and the fan who had a seizure. And,

that Tebow laid on hands and prayed. Sadly, many think that this act actually saved this fan.

A couple of comments. Because two things happen at the same time doesn't mean there's causality. That is, it doesn't mean that one thing caused the other.....Tebow laying on of hands and the fan coming to. 

Yes, it will surely seem crazy to you believers but I could have been eating a hot dog at the time of this incident, and claim that my eating a hot dog caused this fan's recovery. It makes as much sense or lack of sense.

The other aspect is from a medical perspective. Sadly, many people routinely have seizures and most of them are not fatal. Yes, the person recovers and goes about their life. This fan recovering could be the normal course of events for him.

Some, I'm sure actually think that Tebow has the power or whatever term you want to use. You know, Tebow is a healer. Well, that could easily be tested by him going to the closest hospital.

Now, I would like to metion Kari Van Horn of ABC 15 Arizona, Yes, she gets a Crap Head

Award for calling this a MIRACLE!!!!!! Way to go, Kari!

Having Emotional Problems, Depressed, Relationship Gone to Hell, Life Out of Control.......????

My friend, Mr. Charlie, who is a counselor, recently told me I've been obsessed about so-called complementary and alternative medicine, psychics, and so on and spending far-too-much time writing about it. And, he may well be correct.

Pigasus awards. I just visited with Dr. Orac, and found this link.  As I knew Oz had received the award I just glanced at the article. As I best remember, in addition to receiving the award, he's the only one who received it more than once.

I Just Watched Dr. Strangelove, Again. And, Thought About Peter Sellers.

I've been to Las Vegas, twice. When asked what I thought, I always said, Beneath the tinsel

Sort of like the Catholic church, Beneath the myths, superstitions, tacky costumes, beanie caps (for cryin' out loud), unending bizarre rituals, talking snakes, virgin births, parting seas, drinking the blood of and eating the body of you-know-who, and on and on....is yes, more of the same.

I'm not wasting time on the miracles. Folks, it's 2016 and we're still talking about miracles.

Catholic church or Christopher Hitchens????? What do you folks think? Lest you folks think I don't like Catholics, my best friend was almost-a-priest. Thank the Lord he saw the light!

Statues of Trump were erected? in several cities around our great country. Here's what the NYC Parks Department said....

The most surprising government agency to lampoon Donald Trump this week? The New York City Parks Department.

The department issued a short response after an arts group called Indecline hoisted a life-size, naked Trump statue in Union Square park Thursday.

"NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small," said Sam Biederman, a parks spokesman.

INDECLINE are the folks who placed the statues. Interesting folks, I guess....

Are We in the US Ready for a Nekid First Lady........?

Nekid snaps of Melania Trump are popping up. If interested, take a look here and here. Also, I learned a new word today. A commenter to our local newspaper, used the word sybarite when making a post about Trump.

My mom always said that we should never make fun of how a person looks. She said they had no choice and that they were born that way.

Yes, I agree with my mom and always try to remember her advice. However, I  think if you have yourself photographed and put the image out there for us all to see, well, that changes things.

Speaking from the guys' standpoint, there seems to be a wide range when it comes to what we think is appealing. Some of us like short women, some tall, some redheads, some blondes, some skinny, some more Rubenesque, and so on.

Now, Melania doesn't seem all that cool to me. She seems....hmmm.....fake and a tad sleazy? She also seems to have gone under the knife. Another aspect for me would be, what kind of person would marry Donald Trump? 

As a not-so-good analogy, I guess it could be asked, if you wanted a car for the long term, a car you had to drive daily, would you pick a high-performance Ferrari or something less flashy and more reliable? 

For a day at the track, the Ferrari would be great, you know, rev it to the throttle cut off, torture the brakes, toss it through the corners, drive it like you stole it.....but, to drive daily to work, pick up groceries, pay for the maintenance, and so on? Maybe, not so great.

I, for one, am not ready for the Trumps.

Anyway, enough of this....

Voter Fraud.... Voter ID...... What Do You Folks Think?

The folks in North Carolina seem to spend a lot of time in court. Yes, they want everyone to have a photo ID before they can vote. Seems they lost the latest court battle. Actually, requiring a photo doesn't sound all that ominous, does it? Reasonable? Most politicians stress they are not trying to discriminate, they want to avoid voter fraud. What do you folks think? 

Not sure about you but when I want to the real skinny on a topic, I know where to go. NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post, or WSJ? Nope, for me there's only one person to trust. Yep, John Oliver!!!

Have You Ever Done Anything Stupid? Ridiculous? Used Poor Judgement?

Well, I surely have done all of the above. In fact, gosh, I've made so many mistakes...mostly

what I've done are mistakes.

However, Ronnie Music, Jr., I think has bested us all in doing the most stupid thing. This fellow won a three-million dollar lottery. And, what did he do? He invested his winnings in the meth trade.

During Bernie's speech, the camera showed several people at the conference who were shedding tears. And, yes, there were many Bernie signs raised. Bernie's speech seemed like the good old days......well, you know what I mean. Finally, yes, at the end he did say we need to elect Clinton.

I think one of Bernie's biggest problems was that he never defined what he meant by Democratic Socialist. Most people immediately considered him a communist, for cryin' out loud.

Many, if not all of our programs can be considered socialist in nature. And, is that bad? Is it bad to help folks who have fallen on bad times? Oh, well. Sadly, Bernie is not going to be our guy.

Our entire political system is as bad or worse than the so-called Banana Republics. With maybe a few exceptions the people with the most money win. Period!

This is going to be a brief post...maybe more later.

For this last election process, we would have been better off setting up an account in the name of each person running. Yes, there would be one for Clinton, Trump, Cruz, Carson, and so on. None of them would be allowed to advertise in any way or spend any of the money that is being sent to the fund.

At the cut-off time, the person who has the most money wins and the money from all accounts would be divided and given to charities.

EDIT: I'm watching the first day of the Republican Convention. Wow, all of the speakers seem to be having a contest to see who can say, GOD, the most. Hmmmm........

Wow, there's some kid speaking. Looks as though he's been using meth or crack...or, both. Wow, is he wound up!

Is This the Worst Form of Child Abuse? And, We Actually Allow This to Happen......

I was in a somewhat ticked off mood today. Working on several projects but just wanted to

get one posted quickly. Actually, I should have posted this one a long time ago, but somehow forgot about it.

Summer should be a time for kids to take a break from school and have a good time. 

Even if you're a Christian you surely can't approve of this so-called camp.

Kids look to their parents for guidance. Kids are raised to believe their parents have the answers. Oh, well, enough of this.

A suggestion for you Christian parents. How about this when talking to your kids. Johnny, this is what we believe however there is absolutely no evidence to support our beliefs. You need to think about religion when you get a little older. Oh, well.....written like a true dork. Sure, parents will help their kids make reasonable and logical decisions about religion. Sure they will......

Oh, well. Yes, whistling Dixie again.

Apologize for this poorly-written abbreviated screed. It's all just really frustrating. I need to stop bashing my head against a wall......

2016 Isle of Man TT Race.....A New Record Set and Five Died!

I guess it would be fair to say that I am at least somewhat obsessed with the Isle of Man. I find it

amazing what these racers do. Zooming around the Island at what would seem unbelievable speeds. Rocketing through towns inches from brick walls and iron fences, knowing that the slightest mistake may well kill you. Not hurt you, kill you. This year, 2016, five racers died. 

There's also Mad Sunday when everyone goes out on the Island and it's not unusual to have non-racers die. I guess someone could quip, it's an Island of death.

Why do they, the racers, keep coming back year after year? It's almost as if they are standing in line to die. In fact, one racer, who'd been to the Island eight/nine years said that It's just a matter of time. And, then it will happen.

This year, 2016, Michael Dunlap set a record.

He averaged 133.393 miles per hour around 

the Island.

Michael Dunlop is the son of Robert Dunlop and the nephew of Joey Dunlop. Robert and Joey are dead. Yes, they both died racing.

We Don't Need No Women Tryin' to Race no Race Cars!!!!

Have you folks heard that old bromide? You know, Women...well, they don't know nutin' 

about no cars!!!! Yes, that's the mindset of many guys. I won't go into the whys of that type of thinking. Maybe for another time.

I watch many types of racing and rarely miss a NASCAR race. And, there's the ongoing discussion about Danica Patrick.

She ain't no real racer. She ain't never gonna win a race. Look where she finishes.  

Many folks, avid fans among them, forget or can't understand that having a NASCAR team is a BUSINESS. This isn't Saturday-night hobby racing at your local 1/4 mile dirt track.

So, I'll ask you. Would you rather have Danica, who brings in 20 million (as an example) in sponsors and often finishes 20th or so, or would you rather have a young hot-shot racer who finishes in the top ten but brings in 2 million in sponsor money?

That said, I'd like to introduce you to Sabine Schmitz, who is known as the Queen of the Nürburgring.

Sabine starts toward the back of the pack and gets them all.

She's driving a Porsche 911. She's the type of driver that
